With the game tonight the only injury concern is Darrel Jackson. He will not play tonight, so make sure to have him out of your lineup. Were it not a short week he most likely would have played, and therefore he's likely to play next week.
After a solid performance on Monday night, Thomas Jones has been hobbled by injury and looks unlikely to play this week. The Bears easing up on Jones' workload as they prepare for the playoffs will be a theme the rest of the way. Jones has lost most of his value for the rest of season, while Cedric Benson is a terrific start the rest of the way.
Following an ankle injury in the game on Sunday, there is speculation that Randy Moss may miss the remainder of the season. He will definitely be out this week, and with Moss' desire and the current state of the Raiders it wouldn't be a surprise to say that last week was Moss' last as a Raider.
Hines Ward has missed the Steelers' last two games with a knee injury. After fully recovering, he'll be back in the lineup against Carolina. As long as Ward is in the Steelers lineup, he should be in your lineup.
They share the carries so they might as well share injuries as well. Both Dominic Rhodes and Joseph Addai were questionable this week after getting banged up last Sunday. However, both players look like they'll be back in the lineup on Sunday. With Addai a little more banged up than Rhodes, he could lose a few carries to the healthier back.
Browns QB Charlie Frye is still recovering from injury, and he is listed as questionable for this week. It is pretty unlikely that he will play this week, and Derek Anderson will get another chance to see what he can do. Personally, I feel Anderson is as good if not better than Frye, but following this week Frye will most likely get his job back.
Jake Delhomme hasn't practiced since injuring his thumb so it would be highly unlikely that he'll be back for Carolina. Filling in once again is Chris Weinke who has lost 16 straight starts. As long as Weinke starts, the entire Carolina offense should suffer.
Chester Taylor missed last ween which in affect gave way to the miracle we call Artose Pinner. Despite being limited in practice this week, Taylor is determined to suit up on Sunday. Whoever gets the start will have a solid day against a Jets rush defense that often gets burned. This is a situation to watch that will most likely come down to how Taylor feels Sunday morning.
Like both Colts RBs, Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew are banged up for Jacksonville. Taylor is the healthier of the two RBs, but it appears like both will play. The Jaguars are taking on the Titans which means both guys should run free on Sunday.
In the midst of his resurgent season, Travis Henry has hit a bump in the road this week in the form of an ankle injury. Henry hasn't practiced so far this week, and it would be a real shock if he does play. It is still undetermined if either Lendale White or Chris Brown will start if Henry is hurt. Either way I don't recommend either against the elite Jacksonville rush defense.
While the Titans rushing game is a mess, the Falcons have even more problems. Yesterday, reports were that the crazy (and first contrived here) idea of Matt Schaub at QB and Michael Vick at RB may actually take place. However, that has taken a step back due to the recovery of Jerious Norwood. As of right now, Norwood would be the best bet to start because Warrick Dunn is looking like a game-time decision. Norwood would be a very solid start against a Cowboys defense that struggles against RBs just like him.
In midst of the debacle that took place for the Patriots on Sunday, New England lost TE Ben Watson to a leg injury. The leg appears like it will cause Watson to miss at least a week. So far this year he has been one of the steadier TEs in football so he will be missed. Daniel Graham will replace him in the lineup and should put up comparable stats.
Reports out of New Orleans are that Joe Horn will miss the rest of the season with his groin injury in order to assure that he will be healthy for the postseason. While this may not be what fantasy owners that have been holding onto Horn want to hear, it is the right move. Devery Henderson is now a weekly option in the explosive Saints offense. The injury to Horn caps a second consecutive disappointing fantasy season.
After sitting out last week due to a back injury, Maroney is struggling to practice again this week. Right now, I'd call him a game-time decision because he has practiced lightly so far this week. If he can play, he's a decent option against the weak Houston defense.
While Derek Mason, Donald Driver, and Chris Chambers have all been listed as questionable at sometime during this week, they are all certain to play on Sunday. All three WRs have good matchups this week.
